For this assignment I have chose The Privacy Act of 1974 This law forbids federal agencies from allowing information to be used for any reason other than that of which is was collected.
Reason for me choosing this law was because I agree with it, and also because I feel that companies in today's society have found out ways to get around this law and that this law may in return need to me reanalyzed. I feel that this law would be a very good law just for simple reasons. In today's day and age companies have found multiple ways to get around the privacy law. Many ways I do not know how they get away with it but I have ran into several instances I have had my information missing or have found my information on websites I did not approve of, and have even been called on my cell phone, which very few people have that number. All of these things are going against this policy because I did not give my information to these people and I did not allow this to continue I had to go through some mess to get it to stop but I feel that it was worth it because now my information is not being thrown around company to company.
I'm simply stating that if this law was to be enforced and or revised for a second time and maybe changed a little to enhance the safety of people information then this would be a great law and probably one of the best in the computer world!
